Business Development Manager
Position Overview
The ideal candidate must possess a strong technical aptitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of success in IT product segment sales. The individual for this position should be results -oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as a part of the team. Candidates with prior exposure to proctoring, elearning, or AI-driven Edtech solutions are highly encouraged to apply.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sales and Marketing, Management or a similar qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology would be an advantage.
Experience
- 5+ years of proven experience in B2B Sales specifically in the IT product sales (Saas or Paas domain), preferably in the Moodle or other LMS, or in the Edtech industry.
- Proven track record of success in selling complex software products, preferably in the LMS or Edtech domain.
- Experience in consultative or value based selling, focusing on understanding customer pain points and aligning product benefits to address them.
- Strong communication skills to effectively articulate the value proposition of our proctoring product to potential clients.
- Experience working with Universities and educational institutions in an LMS context is highly desirable.
- Exceptional ability in negotiating sales deals, contracts, and drafting sales pitches/ proposals.
- Ability to explain and demonstrate IT product specifications and functionalities.
- Good hands on experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and CRM tools.
- Knack for building rapport with existing and potential clients.
- Proven experience in pipeline management, account management and gathering regular client feedback is essential to drive product improvements .
- Capacity to analyse and understand the sales forecasts and trends.
- Ability to convert leads into business opportunities.
- Understanding of how to procure government sales projects and tenders would be desirable.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Identifying and targeting the potential clients for our proctoring product via platforms like Linkedin Sales Navigator and other channels.
- Demonstrating the product functionalities to potential clients.
- Expanding outreach to Government and Private educational institutions to increase adoption of our proctoring product.
- Determining sales forecasts and industry trends relevant to Edtech and online exam security.
- Identifying and understanding client pain points, articulating product benefits, and aligning them with client needs.
- Building a robust sales pipeline through consistent lead generation, qualification, and nurturing strategies.
- Preparing and delivering customised sales pitches/presentations that address specific client requirements.
- Consulting with IT developers and management to propose product improvements based on client feedback and market demands.
- Maintaining relationships with potential and existing clients, including regular email marketing to address evolving requirements.
- Analyzing industry trends, competitor products/features, and researching ongoing events to maintain a competitive edge.
- Managing the end-to-end sales cycle for proctoring product, from initial contact to deal closure and post-sale follow-ups.
- Ensuring marketing collateral (brochure, decks, web content) is created and updated regularly in tandem with new features or market insights
- Collaborate with internal teams to align on sales strategies, promotional campaigns, and feature roadmaps.
